ABOUT US

What started as WAVES for Development in 2008 has been a rollercoaster ride of excitement, growth, frustration and now of extreme pride. We are proud to say that the young people in Lobitos have taken over all of the operations there in Peru – including the new surf, skate and art therapy initiatives. Check out the video below of the pilot project in Lobitos many years ago…

Our vision is all about connection; connect to other people and to the important spaces around us – especially as it relates to surfing. Our mission to inspire local action and travel regeneratively while adapting to the climate crisis.

US HEADQUARTERS

Address
1007 Shadick Rd, Ballston Spa, NY  12020

We acknowledge that oftentimes we don’t pay much attention to the history and injustices of where we live and play. Our intention is to encourage our community to think about and look into the communities and colonialism that preceded us and where we recreate. We recognize our headquarters is on traditional Mohican, Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (Mohawk) and Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee) land.
